Red Bull creates the
worldâs fastest camera drone
With F1 all set to grace our screens this weekend, Red Bull has gone the extra mile to make sure we get to see top-tier racing action.
The custom-built camera drone can reach speeds 6x times faster than the average consumer drone.
The rocket-shaped drone has a top speed of over 217 mph, matching Max Verstrappenâs RB20
It has a flight time of only 3 minutes thanks to the high levels of power consumed for fast flight and braking
The pilot flies the drone with a remote control while moving the camera with a foot pedal
He also has to wear a pair of goggles to view the camera feed and avoid crashing
The footage is certainly impressive, as former F1 driver David Coulthard remarks.
âWhen you see the big, wide, shots you lose perspective on the speed of the car. When you have the drone up close like that then youâre immersed in the whole experience. Iâm sure in the not-too-distant future, weâre going to see this as part of our broadcast.â
Hereâs the drone chasing an F1 car at Silverstone.
Toasted Porsche Cayman
with a working engine
This 2007 Porsche Cayman looks like it should be destined for the scrap yard, but instead, it was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
The seller claimed that while the outside is charred, the interior and engine are still intact.
The car was stored in a place that caught fire, and it wasnât the car itself that went ablaze.
Selling price?
$7,500.
Unfortunately, the listing seems to have been taken down at the time of writing this newsletter.
But whoever bought it got a heck of a deal for a project car, considering an un-burnt example goes for around $20,000.
$20M mansion with a go-kart track included
This mansion is every car enthusiastâs dream.
Itâs currently on sale in Arizona, and here are the details:
The mansion spans over 9,300 square feet of land
It has a gym, gaming room, theater room, full-size basketball court, and most importantly, a go-kart track
The track has 7 corners, including a tight hairpin and a long straight
The go-karts are electric and can be charged in the fully decked-out garage
3 rows of spare tires, tool boxes, and workstations are included
If only I could afford it; I would do laps every morning while sipping my coffee.
Iâve linked the Zillow listing below.
Time to replace your engine oil?
Read this first
Changing your engine oil is a non-negotiable task.
How often do you change yours?
Every 6 months? Every year?
Well, this new study says that the miles matter more than age.
In their podcast, Blackstone Laboratories ran some tests by sampling the oil of different cars with different engines, with varying miles since their last oil change
In one sample, 10-year-old oil from a 1995 Porsche 995 that had only 776 miles since its last change - tested fine!
Whereas some commercial vehicles that spent a lot of time idling required an oil change much before the recommended service time or mileage interval
Calendar time is no reason to rule it out. Miles are what you need to be keeping track of.
I suggest listening to the 30-minute podcast to get a better understanding of how the study was conducted, and what results were obtained.
1. BMW vs. Mercedes: street race goes wrong
With great power should come great driving skills and brains.
Not in this case, unfortunately.
2. Man tries to buy a Porsche with a $79M check
No, this wasnât a billionaire who accidentally added an extra zero to two at the end.
It was a 21-year-old who attempted to not only buy a Porsche but a Land Rover too, using a $12 million check.
Was he hoping that the dealer would oversee the mistake?
Well, it didnât work out for him because employees suspected something fishy. When confronted he started behaving abnormally.
Cops were called and he was arrested for criminal trespass and one count of disorderly conduct.
3. The wrong turn ends up with a swim in the ocean
A Canadian tourist in Hawaii ended up making a wrong turn in his rental Jeep.
Except it wasnât at an intersection - it was straight off a cliff and into the ocean.
Luckily, he survived and swam to safety.
Tesla hater buys $800k
worth of Tesla Roadsters
Ironic, isnât it?
Hereâs a rundown:
Billionaire Dan OâDowd has been a critic of Teslaâs self-driving software
Back in 2011, a Chinese company bought three Roadsters for R&D purposes, but they didnât get through customs
They were discovered last year hibernating in a shipping container (for over 10 years now)
Dan, who owns two Roadsters, bought the three China Roadsters
He plans on preserving them as museum exhibits since they are untitled, and need new batteries which cost around $100k - each.
Genesis GV60 can self-park
A lot of cars can self-park. So what makes the GV60 special?
The system is called âSmart Parking Assistâ
Unlike some luxury cars which can be moved forward or backward using the car key, the GV60 can autonomously and remotely park itself
Once you drive up to an empty spot, you have to press and hold the âpark viewâ button. Then select one of the two options
Smart Parking - where you stay inside the vehicle and the car controls the steering and pedals
Remote Parking - where you step outside and press a button on the key to park the car automatically
You can also get the car to exit a parking space remotely
See it in action below.
Tesla Roadster will get rocket thrusters
In typical Tesla fashion, the launch of the Roadster has been delayedâŚagain!
But, there is some interesting news.
Elon Musk shared on X that the electric sports car will accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than one second!
Previously, the car was said to have a 1.9-second time.
How is Tesla going to halve this time?
ROCKET THRUSTERS!!!
Itâll be called the âSpaceX option packageâ and will include âaround 10 small rocket thrusters arranged seamlessly around the carâ.
Hereâs a simulation of what it may look like (credit to @pslavi on X)
I fully expect Mr. Musk to follow through on his claim, and I cannot wait to see it in action.
