Crashed & Cashless: Famous Wolf of Wall Street Countach fails to sell at auction

In total, 658 Lamborghini Countach 15th Anniversary Editions were produced, and two featured alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street.

The car you see here is the one that was wrecked when Jordan Belfort (played by DiCaprio) attempted to drive the car home while on drugs.

It went up for auction a week ago and was expected to fetch around $1.5 million. Usually, a car like this goes for around $500,000 in the used car market.

However, no one wanted to pay that much for a car they canā€™t drive, regardless of how famous or ā€œart-worthyā€ it is.

The highest bid, $1.35 million, was rejected by the seller.

Fun fact: during filming, the director was not satisfied with the damage done by the stunt driver and used a truck and a sledgehammer to inflict more damage on it.

YouTuber Mat Armstrong, known for rebuilding cars, was invited to be a part of the auction and you can check out his coverage of the event below.

But what about the second Countach used in the film?

Itā€™s coming up for sale at RM Sothebyā€™s New York auction in early December and is expected to fetch $1.2 million.

$2500 in fines
for loud exhausts

Live in NYC and have a loud exhaust?

A new bill issued by the Councilman allows the installation of acoustic cameras to detect louder-than-normal vehicles.

Hereā€™s what you need to know:

  • The sound cameras activate when a vehicle produces at least 85 decibels from 50 feet away or more

  • 5 acoustic cameras will be installed in each of the five boroughs with more being added gradually

  • The location of the cameras will be posted publicly online

  • The fines are as follows:

    • First offense - $800

    • Second offense - $1,700

    • Three or more offenses - $2,500

Thief returns stolen truck with
an apology letter and toys

A cafe owner in New Zealand experienced two moments of disbelief.

One when his truck was stolen.
The other when it was returned four days later.

In it was an apology letter and some toys for the ownerā€™s kid.

Hereā€™s what the letter said.

Hey man brought your truck back sorry mate was drunk and needed a ride home. Left your keys locked in truck. Here all something for your baby. Thank you and Sori

Despite the good behavior though, police are still investigating the crime.

Stunning one-off Lamborghini Revuelto

The Lamborghini Revuelto is the successor to the Aventador, and like its predecessor, it continues to be an aggressive looker.

The folks at Lamborghini Stile (Lamboā€™s custom design firm) decided to take the design a notch higher and created this one-off Revuelto Opera Unica, which translates to ā€œunique workā€.

Whatā€™s astonishing is that it took 76 hours of R&D and 435 hours (or 18 full days) to hand-paint the car!!! šŸ¤Æ

Here are some images for you to admire.

1/ Thieves fail to steal a manual Porsche

This has to be the most epic fail of all time.

Carjackers attempted to steal a Porsche 718 Boxsterā€¦

Except none of them knew how to drive stick and kept stalling the 718. LOL šŸ¤£

2/ Mechanic crashes Alfa Giulia QV onto Porsche 911

Posted by u/Over_Inevitable6630 on Reddit

ā€œThey told me they were doing a test drive after the repairs, and a minivan cut them off, causing the driver to overcorrect and swerve up the embankment, hit a tree, and go airborne,ā€ said the owner of the Giulia.

3/ Causing 2 accidents in 20 seconds :|

4/ GMC Hummer EV sat on a wall, GMC Hummer EV had a big fall

A transport trailer with a 9,000-pound EV strapped to the top took a turn a little too fast.

Physics then took over and tipped the trailer to its side.

Thatā€™s a $112,000 vehicle probably written off, there and then.

maybe a project for Matt Armstrong??

1/ Tesla Cybertruck reviews are out. Hereā€™s what they say

The Tesla Cybertruck is an interesting vehicle. It breaks so many molds that weā€™re used to, not just for trucks, but automobiles in general.

Jack Rix even goes so far as to compare it to the original Lamborghini Countach designed by Marcello Gandini, who was so fed up with how sportscars looked at the time.

Weā€™ve linked the reviews down below if you want the details, but in short, hereā€™s what they say:

ā€œThis car is absolutely, obscenely rapidā€

Jack Rix, Top Gear

ā€œYou gotta get used to it, but that tight turning radius and how nimble it feels, thatā€™s remarkably responsiveā€

Marques Brownlee

ā€œDo I love the way it looks? No. I hate it! And then I love it. And then I hate it. Then I love itā€

Jason Cammisa, Hagerty

There are lots of reviews on YouTube already.

Weā€™re linking Haggertyā€™s because I love their timelapse videos.

2/ Can the Tesla Cybertruck beat a 911 while towing another 911 in a drag race?

The Cybertruck has a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs.

To test that, they strapped another 911 (3780 lbs) to a trailer and attached it to the Cybertruck.

And below is the outcome (40 sec video).

If you like drag races, here are some more šŸ‘‡ļø

3/ Driving a Tesla Model S for 1.2 million miles

Hansjƶrg von Gemmingen-Hornbergā€™s Tesla Model S has clocked around 1.24 million miles. But it wasnā€™t a problem-free experience.

Hereā€™s what you need to know:

  • Model S P85 has been through 13 new motors

  • The battery pack has been changed 4 times

  • Gemmingen-Hornberg said that he does not drive like a maniac, and ensures the batteries are optimally charged to maintain the longevity of the EV components

He also owns a Tesla Roadster thatā€™s clocked a mere 250,000 miles! šŸ¤Æ

Hereā€™s the story.

4/ Ken Blockā€™s Electrikhana Two: One More Playground

One month ago we showed you the trailer of Electrikhana Two.

Well, the full film is out, and is the last time you get to see Ken in his element.

In the end, short clips of each Gymkhana video are played in his memory. Grab a box of tissues šŸ˜¢
